Drop 1: Our iconic victory at the 1992 British Grand Prix – available now

When you think of Williams Racing, you think of the dominant FW14B navigating the crowds after taking the checkered flag at Silverstone.

That year we were powered by a machine that was one of the most dominant of all time, claiming victory in 10 of the year’s 16 races, six of which came with a 1-2 finish.

It also claimed pole position in all but one round of the 1992 season to fully cement its place in the history books of our sport.

The defining moment for the FW14B is undoubtedly the moment highlighted in Drop 1: fans pour onto the tarmac as Nigel Mansell in our FW14B basks in the adoration of the home crowd.

In qualifying he was almost two seconds on pole, a lead that in today’s Formula 1 could comfortably cover the entire field.

Despite being passed at Turn 1, he quickly regained the lead and the FW14B showed its full potential, eventually winning by a margin of 39 seconds.

The supporters stormed the circuit, this was Nigel’s year and this would once again be Williams’ year, with both titles secured by the Oxfordshire-based manufacturer.
