Founded in 2008, The Dress Up Gang consists of Robb Boardman, DeMorge Brown, Kevin Camia, Donny Divanian, Christian Duguay, Kirk Fox, Cory Loykasek, Frankie Quinones and Brent Weinbach.

The photo written by the group’s Loykasek, Boardman and Divanian is a comedic adventure about our connection to houseplants, nature and each other. Blurb: Cory spends his days isolated, working from home, until he becomes ensnared by a mysterious figure known only as “the Plantman,” a vigilante who breaks into people’s homes to save plants that aren’t getting water. Cory is suddenly thrust outside into an underground world of plant lovers, secret greenhouses and rogue hardware store employees who will stop at nothing to save the city’s dying plants. When a gang of negligent plant owners gather to track down Plantman, Cory’s newfound loyalty is tested and he is forced to answer a big question: How far would you go to save a dying plant?

Boardman directs and stars Quinones (What we do in the shadows, This fool), Lojkasek (Physically, Dope stands), divine (Physically, Commercial) and Fox (Reservation dogs, Jury duty) starring.

Quinones exclaimed, “Creating stories with The Dress Up Gang is something I have been passionate about since we started working together over a decade ago. We are so excited to bring this film to a wider audience, with partners who believe in our vision and aesthetic. In partnership with Tideline and Mountain Top Pictures, we are bringing audiences to a world of plants and helping people reconnect with what matters through the lens of The Dress Up Gang.”

“It is an absolute pleasure to be working with the team at The Dress Up Gang on their first-ever film,” said Hannah Pillemer, EVP and Head of Creative & Production for Tideline parent company MarVista Entertainment. “Frankie, Cory, Robb, Donny and the whole gang are a comedic force shaping the boundaries of contemporary comedy, which is right in line with the kind of imaginative entertainment Tideline produces.”

Mark Ankner (Ponyboi, Ben Wagner (Dead inside), Adam Karm (Dead inside) and Jay Patumanoan (The Dress Up Gang) are producers pictured with Fernando Szew, Tony Vassiliadis, Pillemer, Ani Kevork and Kevin Mann EPing.

Launched earlier this year by Fox Entertainment and MarVista Entertainment, Tideline’s projects range from feature films and independent films to limited series, platform content and other cross-genre formats. The dress-up gang movie marks the production label’s growing slate of films, which include comedy First female director (produced with Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions and streaming on Roku), written, directed by and starring Chelsea Peretti; the tragedy Ponyboi, written by and starring River Gallo, and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January; and the upcoming thriller beaconstarring Oscar nominee Demián Bechir and Julia Goldani Telles. beacon will have its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June.
