3-5An all-district high school baseball team has been announced

Amarillo High Jump Clayton Norrell was named District 3-5A Most Valuable Player when the district awards were presented last weekend.

Norrell was joined on the district superlative list by three other Sandies on the superlative list. Amarillo High’s Mello Castillo was Co-Defensive MVP for the district, along with Plainview’s Mateo Hernandez, and Jimmy Escajeda was Newcomer of the Year. Sandies senior Payne Williams was co-pitcher of the year with Caprock’s Matthew Hulen.

Amarillo High coach Randon Johnson was named Coach of the Year.
