One dead and another injured in a tractor trailer crash in Clearwater

One man died and another was hospitalized after a pickup truck and a tractor collided early this morning on Clearwater Beach, according to a news release from the city of Clearwater.

Just after 1:30 a.m., city police and fire responded to a crash on Gulf Boulevard. One man in the pickup died, while another man was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg with serious injuries.

According to city spokesman Rob Shaw, portions of Gulf Boulevard in the Sand Key Park area were closed earlier this morning but are now open to the public.

No other details were immediately released.
